The Diamond Circle day tour
The Diamond Circle is a popular tourist route around Húsavík and Lake Mývatn in North Iceland. The four primary stops on the route are The town of Húsavík, Ásbyrgi Canyon, Lake Mývatn and Dettifoss Waterfall, the most powerful waterfall in Europe. Other stops include Vatnajökull National Park, Goðafoss Waterfall, Dark Castles, Eider Falls, The Whispering Cliffs and Laugar. The Diamond Circle covers an area rich in volcanic and geothermal features.

The Diamond circle tour is a full day private tour, 12-14 hrs long, traveling at our own pace and stopping when we feel like it. The scheduled stops are around the Myvatn area at places like Dimmuborgir, Skutustadir pseudocraters, Hverfjall, the Nature Baths and Hofdi. We go to the powerful Dettifoss waterfall and take in its pure power and beautiful surroundings of canyons and basalt rock formations. Ásbyrgi, the horseshoe shaped canyon. Hljóðaklettar and it´s amazing rock formations. Tjörnes Peninsula, a great puffin sighting place early summer to mid August and breathtaking view to the North Atlantic Ocean. We stop in Husavik, the capital of whale watching, a beautiful small fishing town. And last but not least, Goðafoss, the waterfall of the gods.
The variety of scenery is incredibly diverse, from powerful waterfalls with glacial water, the open Atlantic sea, the lava fields in Myvatn and the sulfuric martian landscape that looks far better than it smells!
